Solar Thermal

Heat your hot water for free during the summer months

Solar Thermal System

Solar thermal systems can provide up to 90% of your hot water during the summer and between 40-60% for the rest of the year. A great choice when you want to;

  • Lower your energy bills
  • Reduce your carbon footprint
  • Install a renewable system with very little maintenance and a long lifespan
  • Increase the lifespan of your boiler by reducing its workload

Here’s How It Works

Solar thermal panels work by capturing energy from the sun and use that energy to heat your hot water.

Solar thermal collectors or ‘tubes’ fitted on your roof absorb energy from sunlight. Thanks to a liquid solution that flows through the tubes, the heat is transferred to the water which is stored in your water cylinder. The cylinder then transfers the heated water to your hot water supply. Just like Solar PV your solar thermal system will still work on cloudy days or during the winter, but it will be less efficient than during the summer months.

Get Even More From Your System By Pairing It With:

  • Solar PV – save money your entire energy bill by generating your own electricity and hot water
  • Your Air Source Heat Pump or boiler: this can be used as a back-up system when there isn’t enough sun to power your hot water supply.
