System Installed: Mitsubishi 5 kW Air Source Heat Pump | 200-litre cylinder
Kevin and his family wanted to upgrade their existing gas heating system to a more energy-efficient solution. Due to limited space at the back of the property, our team explored alternative options and determined that the front of the house was the most suitable location for the heat pump.
Air source heat pumps for residential properties in England are generally allowed under permitted development, which means they can be installed without needing planning permission. Until 29 May 2025, the rules required that heat pumps be at least 1 metre away from the property boundary unless planning permission was obtained. The government has since updated these rules, so installations next to a boundary are now allowed without planning permission. This made it straightforward for Kevin to upgrade his system efficiently and legally.
“Great service from start to finish. The team turned up on time, were very tidy, and clearly explained how the new system worked.”
