Project Overview

Imogen was living in a spacious 4-bedroom detached home, relying on an increasingly expensive and carbon-heavy oil heating system. Eager to break away from volatile oil prices and transition to a cleaner, future-proof alternative, she looked for a solution that would deliver substantial running cost reductions from day one.

She also wanted to take full advantage of the £7,500 Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant and required an experienced team capable of managing the complex integration of a high-capacity heat pump, a bespoke solar array and advanced home battery storage.

We designed, supplied and installed a complete multi-technology renewable energy package. This was built around a high-performance Mitsubishi Ecodan 12kW air source heat pump paired with a 250-litre hot water cylinder to ensure abundant, reliable hot water for the 4-bedroom home. To maximise her self-sufficiency, we complemented the heating system with a 5kW solar PV system and 11.5kW of battery storage.

The results are incredible. By ditching fossil fuels, Imogen is projected to save £1,132 per year on her heating costs alone. Furthermore, by utilising her solar and battery setup to avoid peak electricity rates, she is estimated to save an additional £963 generating her own power bringing her total estimated annual savings to £2,095.

Ann's Testimonial

“From first contact to meeting Shaun for the assessment and quote, to finalising completion, the team at EcoFueled have been amazing. We moved from an oil system to an ASHP with solar and battery. The team in the office were always available to chat through ideas and the team were accommodating to some specifics we had. Everyone involved was knowledgable and those on site also worked relentlessly to get the whole system completed on schedule. The system is running beautifully and our outgoing energy costs are slashed! Huge thanks to the team – would 100% recommend!” Imogen, Piddletrenthide, Dorchester

The Solution

Assessment

Moving away from an oil boiler in a home built between 1976 and 1995 requires careful planning. We carried out a comprehensive room-by-room heat loss assessment to ensure the property's existing fabric could perfectly support a low-temperature system. Our technical team sized the system to guarantee absolute comfort even during the coldest winter months, creating a design where the heat pump, solar PV, and battery storage talk to each other seamlessly for maximum efficiency.

Environmental Impact

Ditching Oil for Good
Replacing an oil heating system is one of the single most impactful changes a homeowner can make to reduce their carbon footprint, eliminating local carbon emissions entirely.
Slashed Energy Outgoings
By pairing a 5kW solar system with a substantial 11.5kW battery capacity, Imogen generates her own clean power and buffers her home against peak grid prices.
