Air Source Heat Pump

Heat your home and hot water economically and sustainably with heat from the air (even on cold days!)

An Air Source Heat Pump (often called ASHP) will reduce your carbon footprint and your energy bills. It’s a great choice when you:

  • Want a greener, cleaner and economical long-term alternative to your old gas boiler
  • Want to take advantage of government incentives to get the best system at a great price
  • Are building or renovating a property
  • Want to add value to your home and reduce your monthly energy bills, for good

Here’s how it works

Your Air Source Heat Pump works on the same principle as your fridge, but in reverse. It absorbs heat from the air outside, then uses a compression system to transform that heat energy into heat that warms the water in your heating and hot water systems.

The air outside doesn’t need to feel warm, for your Air Source Heat Pump to be able to extract heat energy from it: ASHPs work all the way down to -25 degrees C, so our British winters will pose no problem to your system!

Get even more from your Air Source Heat Pump by pairing it with:
  • Underfloor heating, for maximum heat efficiency
  • A bolt-on air conditioning system: the same heat pump can keep you warm in winter and cool in summer
  • Solar PV panels that generate solar energy to power your pump
  • Solar Thermal panels, providing free hot water
